Great food and friendly, helpful staff & volunteers. Get a hot meal and a take home meal when you're done eating.
The only "complaint" I have is please stop using, whatever spice you are useing, because we can't eat the food you put it in.
Total waste of food.
We've told Sarah, multiple times but,you keep using it.
If you must use it,don't put so much in the food.
Taste it before you send it out, something.
We like flavor, not Hot n Spicey. Some of have digestive issues that this spice can tear us up.
Otherwise we all appreciate all you do for the community.
I could not say enough about the kitchen, the volunteers are awesome ,the staff is awesome ,I've been going there and I have volunteered also so I know the serving side and the public side ,they do everything far more than expectations could go. They really care about what they do which is helping out people in need and from the bottom of my heart they really are the best and I've been to a lot of places ,,keep up the great work you do community kitchen
Staff and volunteers are very nice and the food always seems fresh and very tasty. Very clean place.
I'm not typically one who allows any help from others for myself! But with the sudden hike in groceries I too have had to swallow my pride & not look at this as something one should be ashamed of. This place is great. It was clean, the people serving the meals were very respectful & made me feel like family. The food was just like a good home cooked meal. I must thank everyone in our community that made this place possible. It is a great place & it's nice to know there are still people out there who have a heart. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a little help. Thank you Community Kitchen.
The Community Kitchen has been around Bloomington for longer than I have and I've been here for over 20 years and that is saying a lot. It has even kept its name throughout those years. If you are in need then check it out. They truly have the desire to help. They have pretty good food, they are located on the bus route, and the atmosphere is pretty chill. A service truly needed within this city.
This place is an unbelievably compassionate way to serve the community. The food is great (and you get to take a dish for later, if you so choose) and you can tell that everyone who volunteers there really wants to be there. It's clean, comfortable and very much needed. This model should be replicated in other cities without this kind of resource.
I volunteered there since my oldest was in 4th grade. I took her there with me when she was younger. Then she carried on and volunteered every Saturday till she is going to college. She never missed a day, working at the remote location even if it was her birthday or had a rough week in high school with the sports or out of town science competitions. Thank you Community kitchen, for not only providing a place for our neighbors in needs, but also a warm and welcoming place for our teens to grow into responsible, compassionate and committed young adult.
